Qps Visual Process manager (X11 ps) in openSUSE

Qps Visual Process Manager is an X11 version of “top” or “ps” that displays processes in a window and lets you sort and manipulate them. It displays some general system information, and many details about current processes (such as the TCP/UDP sockets in use by a process). Qps runs on Linux and Solaris.

ClipGrab – Download videos from online video sharing websites

ClipGrab is a free GUI Video downloader from the famous online video sharing websites like youtube, veoh, Dailymotion, MyVideo and many other. ClipGrab is very simple (basically just one window to work on). Clipgrab downloads the file and saves it by default to FLV (Flash Video) however can convert the downloaded video on the fly to Windows Video (WMV), MPEG4, MP3 (Audio), OGG Vorbis (Audio).

Kdenlive free open-source non-linear video editor for KDE. Kdenlive is an intuitive and powerful multi-track video editor, including most recent video technologies. It relies on a separate renderer, piave, to handle it’s rendering. Kdenlive is easy to use for all levels of users from novice to advanced video editors. Kdenlive is built upon MLT and ffmpeg frameworks, which provide unique features to mix virtually any kind of media.

Warzone 2100 Resurrection opensource game in openSUSE

Warzone 2100 Resurrection was an innovative 3D real-time strategy game back in 1999. The game’s source code was released later in 2004, under a GPL license. Soon after that, the Warzone 2100 ReDev project was formed with the goal to make warzone run on all possible platforms. The original code of all proprietary technologies were stripped and replaced with cross-platform and free equivalents, like OpenGL, OpenAL, etc. Right now, Warzone 2100 works very well on Windows and GNU/Linux and BSD.

get_iplayer – Download BBC iplayer, BBC Radio & ITV programmes

get_iplayer is yet another cool command line tool to download or stream any iPlayer programme from the BBC in H.264 (Quicktime/mp4) format, any BBC radio programmes in MP3 or RealAudio format (optionally converted to wav or mp3) and all BBC podcasts in MP3/AAC format. The H.264 feeds from the BBC are higher quality than in the Flash iPlayer (normal quality) or the Wii. It even downloads the BBC subtitles where available and has support for downloading ITV TV programmes.
