FrostWire – free opensource Gnutella client for openSUSE

FrostWire is a gnutella client written in Java. It supports a number of advanced features like ultrapeers (like FastTrack’s supernodes), automatic download retries, freeloader punishment, etc. FrostWire is a fork of the very popular LimeWire Gnutella client. The purpose of FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw. FrostWire, although very much like LimeWire, will never offer a paid version or a subscription service for the download or use of the FrostWire application. FrostWire is a not-for-profit project. We will never bundle our software with any type of adware, spyware, malware or collect any personal or private data. FrostWire will always remain free as in both price and freedom.

Google Chrome – Googles opensource browser in openSUSE

Googles new free opensource browser Google Chrome took the world of Internet by surprise when it was released a few days ago. Google Chrome is currently in Beta as was many other Googles web application like GMail for a quite long time and is released only for Windows. A linux version of Google Chrome is expected sooner but anyone who can’t keep the excitement under control can get their hands on Google Chrome by installing with Win on your openSUSE. Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix. Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely free alternative implementation of the Windows API consisting of 100% non-Microsoft code, however Wine can optionally use native Windows DLLs if they are available.

Deluge – free opensource Torrent Client for openSUSE

Deluge is a full-featured free opensource BitTorrent client for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. It uses libtorrent in it’s backend and PyGTK for it’s user interface. Deluge was created with the intention of being lightweight and unobtrusive. Deluge features a rich plugin collection; in fact, most of Deluge’s functionality is available in the form of plugins. Deluge is not designed for any one specific desktop environment and will work just fine in GNOME, KDE, XFCE and others.
