TV-Browser – A Digital TV Guide in openSUSE

TV-Browser is a simple Digital TV Guide that supports more than 500 TV channels and 80 Radio stations. TV-Browser collects TV program information from different sources on the internet and presents it neatly as a Digital TV Guide with pictures where there possible (if there are no copyright issues).TV-Browser is a free opensource software licensed under GPL that can run on multiple platforms like Windows, Linux, MacOS & OS/2 as it is Java based and requires only the SUN Java runtime environment to work properly.

ManDVD – DVD authoring software to create Home Video DVDs in openSUSE

ManDVD is a free opensource GUI based KDE DVD Authoring software to create DVDs from video files from the Hard Disk. ManDVD helps create, customize the DVD menus including extracting image from videos, manage subtitles, define chapters, adding video effects. With ManDVD, you can reencode audio with Ac3 to ensure that most of the DVD players can play sound from the DVD you create.

Audacity – Audio editing & recording in openSUSE

Audacity is a free opensource audio editing and recording software. Audacity can run on Linux, Windows and Mac OSX. Audacity can manipulate digital audio wave forms. In addition to recording sounds directly from within the program, it imports many sound file formats, including WAV, AIFF, AU, IRCAM, MP, and Ogg Vorbis. With Audacity, you can edit wave data larger than the physical memory size of your computer.

Sockso Personal music server in openSUSE to share music with friends

Sockso is a free, open-source, personal music server for everyone! It is a simple and easy to use music server with which you can share your own collection of music with frends online or with people using computers in your home network. A simple GUI on your PC allows you to setup you collections users, webserver settings etc and for the users it is a simple web interface to register or logon and create use playlists and play the music from your collection. If you are behind a firewall at home and are trying to share it over the internet then you need to open the port on which you are sharing your music (default:4444).
