Instlux – Install openSUSE and Ubuntu Linux from Windows

Posted by admin on July 22nd, 2008

Instlux is a free opensource tool that allows one to install openSUSE linux directly from Windows without having to make changes to the Boot order in your PC or ServerĀ  BIOS.

Instlux has become a part of the openSUSE project and is being included into openSUSE 10.3 and later and supports ubuntu installations as well.

It is a simple installer (EXE file) which is available for openSUSE installation from a CD-ROM or a Network install. There are two installers (one for Network install & one for CD-ROM install) in various languages. Simply, download and run the installer and reboot when prompted. Ensure, you have the CD-ROM inserted (if choosen) and a network connection for the installation to start successfully.
