Install & configure Ekiga -opensource VoIP Video confrencing software in openSUSE

Ekiga (formely known as GnomeMeeting) is an open source VoIP and video conferencing application for GNOME. Ekiga uses both the H.323 and SIP protocols. It supports many audio and video codecs, and is interoperable with other SIP compliant software and also with Microsoft NetMeeting.

To install in openSUSE (openSUSE 11.0 here) the following pre-requisites needs to be installed
Opal
pwlib
opensuse11:~ # yast2 –install opal pwlib
Now install ekiga from YaST repositories
opensuse11:~ # yast2 –install ekiga
This should install Ekiga on your desktop. The openSUSE 10.x versions also have a downloadable RPMs at Ekiga. Click here to visit the download location.
To start ekiga, from the start menu search for Ekiga or from the terminal start ekiga as follows:
opensuse11:~ # ekiga
When started for the 1st time, Ekiga will take you through a registration process as shown in the gallery below. This should establish a user account establish connection for you.
