@Dezza : try <a href="http://www.sacredchao.net/quodlibet/" title="quodlibet" rel="nofollow">, it's light but very customisable and functionnal, and it manages huge music collection easily. It hasn't been updated recently but it works well.

Back on topic, I currently use Exaile, it's indeed very nice, no problem with my music collection, which is quite big.

It's just a shame it's so god damn buggy!!

I searched for a lighter alternative and came over Exaile, but it's smart playlists are the worst piece of code I've ever seen, and the ratings are gone now and then.. Really timewaste if you like spending time rating your songs like I do.

Other than that I can say, with my music collection the program gives up, at 10.000+ songs the program gives up, and no music player I've come across can replace AmaroK because of it's MySQL-DB support and it's WORKING ratingsystem + good smart playlists, which are also easy to edit btw.

One feature I would like to see in both Amarok and other players is that "ratings" are binded by an indentifier in the ID3-tags at the "Comment" tag or something else that is completely optional .. It would do it much easier to reorganize your music collection without loosing the ratings.
