aria2 - free advanced CLI utility to download files in openSUSE

Aria2 is a free opensource file download utility that supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, BitTorrentĀ  (DHT, PEX, MSE/PE) and Metalink. aria2 can download a file from multiple sources/protocols and tries to utilize your maximum download bandwidth. It supports downloading a file from HTTP,HTTPS/FTP and BitTorrent at the same time. Using Metalink’s chunk checksums, aria2 automatically validates chunks of data while downloading a file like BitTorrent.

FrostWire - free opensource Gnutella client for openSUSE

FrostWire is a gnutella client written in Java. It supports a number of advanced features like ultrapeers (like FastTrack’s supernodes), automatic download retries, freeloader punishment, etc. FrostWire is a fork of the very popular LimeWire Gnutella client. The purpose of FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw. FrostWire, although very much like LimeWire, will never offer a paid version or a subscription service for the download or use of the FrostWire application. FrostWire is a not-for-profit project. We will never bundle our software with any type of adware, spyware, malware or collect any personal or private data. FrostWire will always remain free as in both price and freedom.

Ratproxy - Passive web application security assessment tool

Ratproxy is an opensource semi-automated, largely passive web application security audit tool from the search giant Google. It is meant to complement active crawlers and manual proxies more commonly used for this task, and is optimized specifically for an accurate and sensitive detection, and automatic annotation, of potential problems and security-relevant design patterns based on the observation of existing, user-initiated traffic in complex web 2.0 environments.

OWASP WebScarab - HTTP & HTTPS analysis tool for Linux

OWASP WebScarab is a framework for analysing HTTP and HTTPS applications. Written in Java, WebScarab has several modes of operation, implemented by a number of plugins. In its most common usage, WebScarab operates as an intercepting proxy, allowing the operator to review and modify requests created by the browser before they are sent to the server, and to review and modify responses returned from the server before they are received by the browser. WebScarab is able to intercept both HTTP and HTTPS communication. The operator can also review the conversations (requests and responses) that have passed through WebScarab.
