BeeDiff (beediff) is a program with graphical user interface (GUI) for comparing and merging files. User have the possibilty to work with two text files, each in separate panel. Panels are side by side. All differences of both texts are highlighted in color. Operation buttons (such as merge and remove) are located directly inside the compared texts in appropriate positions. The program is user-friendly, very simple, and efficient.
Install BeeDiff
Packman hosts 1-click installer for openSUSE 11.0/10.3. Click this to download the YaST MetaPackage (YMP) file and automatically open with YaST Package manager. Click Next on the install description for BeeDiff. Click next again on the installation proposal window showing the repositories and the package selection. This will add the requried repositories and BeeDiff package and its dependants. Click Finish once installation successfully completes.
This adds the BeeDiff to the menu under “Applications – Development” as “File Comparator“.
Click “File Comparator” to launch “BeeDiff“. This launches BeeDiff. It has a simple interface, to select “file 1” on the left pane and “file 2” on the right pane. The options include compare and merge. These can be selected from the “Operations” menu. To edit from “Settings” click “Configure”.
