Enabling Desktop Effects/Compiz Fusion cause Video Playback issues

In openSUSE 10.0 & openSUSE 11.0, enabling Desktop effects or Compiz Fusion can cause Video Playback issues and in some cases, there will not be any video displayed. This happens on Intel Display chipset based PCs and Laptops. The problem seems to be with the Intel Display (XV) drivers. The XVideo extension is not composite aware and draws blue instead of video on areas where the composite manager is doing work. No sound only videos on online Videos (Youtube & Google Videos)

Are you one of those people like me who had this weird problem with Online Videos. When you play videos from online services like Youtube, Google Vidoes. This can happen with any website that hosts flash videos. Flash Videos have their own sound settings. However, to resolve this problem install the latest version of Flash Player from the Yast repositories. Switch user to “root” and install latest stable Flash Player: SAIBABA:~ # yast2 –install flash-player Once done, reboot your system. This should resolve the problem.
