There is also a cutdown version of Clive, CClive which has a smaller footprint and fewer dependencies. The feature stripped off Clive to create CClive are paste, background, emit-xml, progress type and Cache.

GUI for Clive/CClive
abby is a simple GUI that supports both clive & cclive video extraction utilities.
Click thisĀ 1-click installer to automatically download and install abby and the required dependencies. This should install abby under “Applications – Internet – Data Exchange” as “Internet Video Extraction“.
When you launch the first, you will be prompted to enter the path for clive or cclive executable and then the direcory to store extracted videos. once, that is set you are straight into the application ready to download your favorite videos.

Addon utilities for Clive/Cclive
clive-utils is an open source project that contains additional utilities that can be used together with the clive utility. This includes
clivefeed – Parses RSS feeds containing video page links and uses clive (or cclive) to extract them.
clivescan – Scans video pages for video links and uses clive (or cclive to extract them. It scans for both video page and embedded video links.
clivepass(clive only) – clivepass is a replacement for stored plain-text website login passwords used with clive. It keeps website login passwords encrypted in a repository file that can be accessed with a global passphrase.
